Southeast Georgia Barndominium Dramatic Images That Could Launch a Thousand Ships
Never judge a dwelling by the dirt road that leads to it. From this view, you get a glimpse of a promise of modern and high-end living against the backdrop of a clear blue sky.
The façade of this barndominium shows the vast expanse of land area it occupies. Composed of two structures separated by a breezeway in the middle, the layout achieves a unified look through a connecting roof.
To the right of the breezeway is a 38×45-foot shop. In front of it is a roofed garage for heavy-duty vehicles. Notice the overhead wooden beams that add character to this edifice.
The approach to the breezeway is a driveway covered in tire-friendly two-toned pavers where cars and vans can be parked. To the left is the living area with a long and wide front porch protected by a roof that stands on handsome wooden vertical beams.
Neesmith Steel Buildings constructed the building shell of this barndo. The exterior is gray with charcoal trim. Expansive 6×8-foot tinted windows adorn the walls, serving the dual purposes of ventilation and UV ray protection.
Wooden double doors flanked by a pair of black hurricane lamps welcome you to the Hewitt residence.
Open Concept Rustic Farmhouse Design in a Southeast Georgia Barndominium
Upon entering the home, you will immediately feel the warmth emanating from the wood on the floor planks, window frames, dining table with matching bench, and kitchen island with stools.
This barndo uses the open concept living space, combining the luxury of modern amenities with traditional furniture and rugs. The wide space offers a full view of the living room, dining area and kitchen. To complete the picture, a stone brick wall that stretches from floor to ceiling houses an old-fashioned fireplace.
The top view of the open space concept gives you an idea of the abode’s peak ceiling at a height of 20 feet. Pure White by Sherwin Williams are painted on the walls, and then stained with Early American color.
Textured wood planks in a lighter shade of brown highlight the dark wooden beams on the ceiling. A chandelier made from deer antlers is suspended from the middle of one.
Up close, you can see the intricacy and fine craftsmanship that went into the making of the chandelier.
Cozy and Homey Southeast Georgia Barndominium Second Floor
In keeping with the rustic farmhouse theme of the ground floor, the second story of this home is built on wood. Reinforced steel rails serve as balustrades for the stairs and the balcony, both overlooking the living area downstairs. These are strung through posts made of sturdy tree barks in their original form. Beautiful!
Wooden double doors lead to the bedrooms. A creative etching on black steel adorns the second-floor landing.
Southeast Georgia Barndominium Bathroom
The perfect nest to soothe one’s tired body at the end of the day. White bathtub, walls and framed pictures relax the cluttered mind. Potted plants and a view of the outdoors from a low windowsill supplement the tranquil atmosphere.
We love how this shower room echoes the design of the entire house. Distressed wooden planks line the walls and mosaic pebble tiles cover the floor. An almost imperceptible triangular spa bench blends in with the same wooden plank material.

This home is even more picturesque as the sky darkens and the exterior lights come to life.
Through the glass windowpane, you can admire the well-appointed kitchen equipped with stark white cabinets, a marble top island, and pendant overhead lighting fixtures.
