Today’s featured home on Barndominium Life is Julie Garner’s gorgeous, homey Kentucky Barndominium. This is such a classic country home and really embodies the spirit of the barndominium in that it manages to feel comfortable and cozy while still utilizing all the things that make a barndominium convenient and easy to build. There are so many excellent little details and the overall design is just beautiful. We can’t wait to show you what it has in store once you go inside.

Before we do that, though, we have to talk about the exterior. One of the things we love to see with any barndominium is a use of the pointed, vaulted ceilings and nowhere is this more apparent than the wonderful entryway to this Kentucky barndominium. With the amazing dark wood beams and stone pillar bases, this is a fantastic example of how you can use the things you have been given to create a truly unique and beautiful home. Working within the standard design of your metal pole building can yield some very interesting results.

The front of this Kentucky barndominium is incredibly beautiful and the back of it is just as well done. We love this cozy little back porch space and think it is a perfect use of the alcove. This barndominium has so many wonderful outdoor spaces that each have their own individual style and feel and this back porch is a great place for sitting and enjoying the surrounding landscape, even if the weather is less than ideal.

Living Area

One of the things that is so interesting and unique about barndos is how once you are inside, you would have no idea that they are made from a metal pole barn. This Kentucky barndominium is certainly no exception to this. The interior looks just as comfortable and cozy as any modern home and features all the same amenities and creature comforts that you would expect. The living area is absolutely beautiful and the drywall work is expertly done.

One of the main focal points of the living area is the beautiful stone fireplace. We love the carved mantle and the way the television is mounted. This is one of the ways to really create a beautiful accent and maintain focus in one particular area. By creating something as artistically endearing and eye-catching as this fireplace, you can draw the eye to this area of the room and create a beautiful flow that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

We absolutely love the high ceilings that this Kentucky barndominium has. Many barndo designers choose to create lower ceilings below the vaults of the pole barn and put in beams to create the illusion of space. This is usually also done if there is a second floor in the barndo. However, the designers of this Kentucky barndominium have decided to fully utilize the high ceilings of their pole barn and create a large, open space that feels roomy and airy. This is another way they have used the limitations of the barn to create something absolutely breathtaking.

Kitchen

The kitchen in this Kentucky barndominium is one of its best features and we can tell that it is one of the most important areas to the owners. We love the island breakfast bar and the color scheme that includes the amazing stainless steel appliances. The configuration of the whole area is incredibly well thought out and features an amazing flow that is both functional and well-done stylewise. We especially love the wire stools that sit along the breakfast bar and the window at the sink that allows you to enjoy the view while washing up.

One of the things we love most about this Kentucky barndominium is the cabinetry. There is so much storage space here and it is so beautifully constructed and finished. It manages to be both functional and incredibly stylish at the same time, which is a major theme with the entire home.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms in this Kentucky barndominium have that same cozy country feel and also have the additional feature of carpeting, which makes them even more comfortable. We love the dark wood furniture that adorns both rooms and creates a well-rounded, rich look, which is a perfect compliment to the carpeting and colors of the rooms. These bedrooms also have large windows for bringing in that beautiful natural light which is a perfect addition for brightening up the space and making it feel more and more like a traditional home.

We love the double vanity and the marbled countertop of the bathroom. The dark hardwood floor is also incredibly warm and comfortable looking, which is essential for any bathroom. Plus, there is more of that beautiful cabinetry that follows through from the kitchen and gives the whole house a complete look. We absolutely love all the choices made for this Kentucky barndominium!
